Four auspicious beasts: White tiger 2020 | 2oz silver | Chad
The White Tiger of the West and Autumn season is considered by the Chinese as the symbol of force and army. The White Tiger is seen as a protector and defender, not just from mortal enemies, but from evil spirits. The White Tiger is one of the Four Auspicious Beasts of the Chinese constellations who are viewed as the guardians of the four cardinal directions.
The 2 oz fine-silver coin is struck in a new minting technique called “Bi-Metal Max”, that combines 11.5 oz of copper as a base for the top layer of fine-silver, resulting in super ultra-high relief while being complemented with antiqued silver finishing. The technique allows the coin to have an incredible weight and feel in the hand together with its 80 mm diameter size.
The collectible features the White Tiger as the focal point on the reverse with its supporting elements and details such as metal. The title of the character and series is coloured in Gold while the obverse features the ancient Chinese constellation graph surrounding an octagon-shaped yin-yang as the backdrop for the legal tender, the Coat of Arms du Tchad.
