Meteorite impacts: Aba panu 2022, Cook Islands 1oz ultra high relief silver coin with meteorite insert
A large fireball detonated over the Nigerian state of Oyo on the afternoon of April 19, 2018. A meteoroid entered the Earth's atmosphere. The extra-terrestrial rocks dug deep cracks and craters in the dry soil of Africa. They were named after the village of Aba Panu, located near the centre of the strewn field.
This 1oz silver coin is a beautiful representation of the Aba Panu Meteorite, and features Smartminting technology, and an authentic Meteorite insert, inside of the coin!
The reverse of this coin depicts the location and crater where the ABA PANU meteorite impacted the Earth. At the bottom of the reverse, the inscription: "ABA PANU".
The obverse of the coin features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the inscriptions: "ELIZABETH II" - the Queen's name, "COOK ISLANDS" - the issuing country and "5 DOLLARS" - the face value.
